The General Crook House Museum and the Library Archives Center, both operated by the Douglas County Historical Society, have a number of volunteer opportunities available.

Opportunities at the Crook House include:
- Crook House Docent - greet visitors and give tours (training provided)
- Weekend Greeter
- Gift Shop Cashier
- Telephone and Mailing Support
- Maintenance/Special Projects
- Assist with Girl Scouts and Educational Programs
- Receptions and Special Events 
- Identifying/Cataloging Decorative Arts
- Acquisitions

- Digitizing Newspaper Collections
- Clipping/Filing Newspaper Articles
