This collection comprises over 30,000 photographic images of Douglas County and Omaha from the early 1860s to the present. The collection runs the gamut from photographs by such well-known photographers as William Henry Jackson to unknown amateur shots capturing historical events like the last legal public hanging in Nebraska in 1891. Prints are also available from the Native American Photo Collection of Elisabeth Leonard Bakos. To order prints from the collection, call the Library Archives Center of the Douglas County Historical Society at 455-9990 or send an email to archivist@omahahistory.org
