TRACING  BUSINESS,  FAMILY &  ORGANIZATION  HISTORIES

A Commemorative History Project of the Douglas County Historical Society

The Douglas County Historical Society is assembling information and photographs of early Omaha families, businesses and organizations.

If you can trace your Omaha roots back to 1900 or earlier, we would like to hear from you. Please complete the questions on the form below (click on the blue box) and return as indicated to the Douglas County Historical Society. Your responses will be a key resource as we establish an “Early Settlers” Club and plan events and special occasions to commemorate and record the very special stories of our early families. Your record will be kept on file and preserved for the future at the Historical Society’s Library Archives Center, which has been designated the official archive for our County history.

The Douglas County Historical Society’s facilities are located at Fort Omaha, 30th and Fort Streets, and include the General Crook House Museum, the Library Archives Center, the Crook House Victorian Heirloom Garden, and Hitchcock Circle with the statue of General George Crook, a Civil War and Indians Wars hero.

Thank you for your interest and for your desire to preserve the history of your family, business or organization – these stories and experiences are to be treasured by our community!
